Exhibition: Harvest Moon by Florence Blanchot

June 7 - June 27

Free

This body of work by Florence Blanchot started with a theme: “The full moon and water”. From there ideas evolved to meditate on the symbolic resonances between the moon and women. The full moon symbolizes completion. It is a phase of fertility, renewal and transformation. However, this time when the moon is directly opposite the sun, can also be a time of friction, polarity, and intense emotional energy. Meanwhile, water intrinsically promotes reflection by mirroring the world around us. Water is a symbol of the unconscious and everything that is submerged within the hidden depths of the psyche. Blanchot’s expressive work delves into symbolism in order to explore the subsconscious, meditating on the feminine and what it mans to be a lover, mother, and friend.

The exhibition runs from Friday 7th June – Thursday 27th June.
